Re: Trans Am Downunder

Welcome. Two sweet rides. You'd think they could have made a right hand drive version of the shifter too with the button on the other side. Looks like you could hang the bird from the bung bars and take it with you! Or find your own "Bandit" to run block for you.

Re: Trans Am Downunder

Never paid attention to the shiter button. That is a bad place for a right hand drive model. GM could have fixed that issue.

Re: Trans Am Downunder

I'm sure it could have been a simple re-engineering piece or for export cars, use the Camaro shifter ****.

Re: Trans Am Downunder

always thought it would be neat to get a hold of a RH drive for the US... it would really throw some people... I know in Aus, they make it mandatory to switch it from LH to RH Drive...

Re: Trans Am Downunder

I noticed the shifter is still on normally (for right-hand thumb operation). Isn't it a bit awkward for you to shift out of park when the thumb lever is still for right-hand thumb operation?

Here's a GTA Notchback that was converted with the shifter turned around so that your thumb can disengage the safety lever:

Re: Trans Am Downunder

I'm not sure... but you might be able to flip it around without any problem... Obviously the clip that is in the front would go to the rear so you would be able to see it... I would have to try it...

Appears to be the case (15 x 4) + 2 = 62

Road trains. They get even bigger than that.

OP, I work for a Mack dealer here in Indiana, just out of curiosity, how many of the Mack Titans do you see around there? Don't see too many here in the States mainly because there's not very many uses for them, but the new Titans are absolute beasts.

Re: Trans Am Downunder

The longest I have ever seen here in the states are the 3 container train. They usually are interstate only, in Michigan I have only seen 2 (short) trailers, but in Ohio on the Turn Pike they allow 3. They are not the 110' trailers, but usually the shorter 60' or so.
