New member 88 Formula 305

Hey everyone,

I've been lurking around here for about a month almost every night and have

already learned lots. Just wanted to make my first post a "new member"

post along with pictures of my ride. As far as future plans go, I cannot

stand how slow and clunky the 305 feels. I have a used 350 that I want to

build up and replace the 305. Also the front bumper is such an eyesore to

me. Hold the flame/hate....maybe it will grow on me but i think Im going to

replace it soon.

Im from the import/tuner world, I was an active member on

CRXcommunity for many years and owned a 91 Honda CRX dx for over 10

years. With 2 kids, it was impossible to give them a ride or drive them to

the store with no back seats. I sold the rex and found me a Formula! Im the

3rd owner and it only has 80,000 original miles, most service/parts receipts

and the build sheet. Found this for 1,700.00

ON TO THE PICS!!!!

Gotta love that clear coat peeling off

Spoiler is beyond nasty, cracked and peeling everywhere

Already replaced one headlight motor

Had to clean the rats nest out of the air intake all the way to the filter...

Only dent on the body, right in the crease too! Anyone hear of using Air Duster upside down to freeze it, then heat gun to pop it out?

Welcome. Bet that Formula sounds much better than the Honda also. I agree with ya on those front bumpers. Never understood why they put those black bumper pad pieces there for the life of me.

Welcome, looks like you ave a nice solid start.
The bumpers are fine, esp on a black car where they don't stick out as much.
Throw some clear at it, proper wheels and you'll have a nice cruiser.

My first car was a 1986 Firebird with that exact same paint scheme. I've always wanted the Formula version of that car. Nice find. Congratulations!

Welcome to TGO! I never really liked the Formy bumpers either. But since I got my 89 they have grown on me. My car is white, so it has the blk/wht theme going. lol

Nice ride! Will you post a pic of the underside of the front bumper. I want to see what the factory air dams look like. Mine are busted off and missing.

I'd personally steer clear of any aftermarket ground effects or body kits
