Digital speedometer/odometer blank

Digital speedometer/odometer blank
My Speedometer and odometer are dead in my 88 GTA......its digital, and im wondering how to solve my problem.....any advise would be a huge help!!!

It may be the dimmer control.

I think I was a little vague in my question...i failed to tell you that yes, I do have background light on both my speedometer and odometer, and the speedometer is reading speed, but its jumping around.....sorry for the mix-up

The "jumping" speed may be the VSS in the trans. Have you taken the cluster out recently? You might have not made the proper connections with the circuit board. Take it out and check for corrosion and/or a bad contact. Hope that helps, i am not very familiar with digital clusters, they are cool though!
