MAF bin onto an AT29c256??

I think I was told how to do this at one point, but I seem to have forgotten. I have modified an ARAP bin slightly and am ready to throw it onto an AT29c256 EPROM that I have but I recall that the 16k bin must be made into a 32k one to work properly. So my question is what procedure is needed to get a 16k MAF-type bin onto a 256k EPROM?

Thanks,

Matt

I just did it today with a pocket programmer and it works great! I wrote it down before, but I'm sorry I don't remember who to give credit to for the brain power and patience it took to figure it out. Anyway..... leave start device at 00000. Change start address to 04000 and end address to 07FFF. That's it!

Thanks. I will likely give that a try tonight. That sounds different the what I remember being told the last time. The method I remember had something to do with combining files and the like. This method sounds much easier. I am guessing that this method just leaves the uneeded portion of the EEPROM blank which should work fine if the EEPROM is blank to begin with.

You're probably thinking of the "piggyback" code. ZaphodB spelled it out to me a few posts back. Double the final code - I just used the DOS copy /b command to make the BIN code the same in lower memory as in upper. So, the final BIN is 32k instead of 16k.

Worked good!
