Susupension and brake questions......

1. With the exception of the 1LE package, are the front disc brake assemblies on 85 and newer F-bodies pretty comparable across the board (RS, Z28, WS6, IROC, etc...)? If not, can somone who knows these systems in and out explain the differences in detail, pros and cons, differences and improvements between both years and different models.

2. Same question as above with respect to the rear disc brake assemblies that came with these cars. I know there are differences and shortcomings, anyone care to explain in detail......

3. Is there really a noticeable difference and is it worth the time to upgrade to a quick-ratio steering box on a car that does not have one? Anyone who has done this swap, your input would be appreciated...

4. On a car with an open rear and drum brakes, would it be much smarter to just install a 4th gen rear with posi and discs, or is a 7.625 rear, 3.23 posi and discs not a bad assembly? Either one would be a good upgrade, but I am thinking it would just be smarter to go with the newer assembly, I just need someone to affirm this. The car in question already has the latter rear available to it.

5. When switching from drums to discs, how important is it to switch the master cylinder and prop. valve? I have seen many swap rears with or without changing these items. Also, with respect to a 4thgen rear, is changing these items even more important?

Thanks in advance for your input.

#1 The stock brakes suck.#2Same as #1 #3 An IROC steering box is preferred(quick ratio and stiffer).#4The stock rear is fine for non supercharged use.#5Use the stock prop valve first. 9if you have undesireable brake reactions. Then change it.
