Hey everybody. I just purchased a 91' Firebird (V6, auto, T-tops) and this will be my project car. I figured the best place to start would be with the suspension. I know the first thing everybody will recommend is SFC's. I plan on going with Spohn's but am worried about the installation. The car doesn't run so taking it to a shop will be difficult and would require towing. I have a welder and was wondering if there was anyway I could install these myself at home. I've heard that you have to have the car lifted by the tires evenly, on a level surface, with the suspension in resting position. Is there anyway that I could get around this? Anybody have any ideas or should I just spring for the money to have it flatbedded to and from a shop?

Yeah you! I've got the Camaro counter-part ('91 RS) that I'm doing the same thing to. Building up the suspension until I actually get the fundage for an LS1. I've got the stuff in my sig. so far. The Spohn SFC'a went in easy. I saw a post on the Spohn board once where he said it wasn't necessary to load the front suspension, only the rear. So you could just use jack stands under your front subframe and another set under your rear axle.

REZN8R, I'd like more info. If you have the time I'd love to have a complete description of how you installed them. Email me at soulbounder@yahoo.com if you ever get the chance. Thanks.
