Hey everyone, I don't see it mentioned on here. This weekend I found out that Rbob over at Dynamic EFI passed away a few weeks ago. For those who don't know him, he was the creator of the EBL ECU. The EBL community has lost a really valuable member.
I've been running his EBL Flash in my 89 IROC for almost 10 years now and bought another one for my truck a few years ago. I never knew his real name. I always referred to him as Rbob in every email. One comment he made that I never forgot was, "Contrary to popular belief, I do sleep". He was the kind of guy who backed his product with all his heart. Always supportive, prompt, and responsive. I never met him personally but would like to know more about him. I am hoping that this thread can be filled with his memory. Something to help us all know Rbob better. Thank you.

Sad to hear. I worked with him quite a bit beta testing the EBL Classic prior to its public release along with the late Grumpy.

 

A big loss, he's contributed so much over the years.

I have just learned about this. Had no idea. I am so saddened. Like FAST, I did beta testing On my 84 Xfire for RBob when he was developing EBL. Truly a brilliant man. He and Grumpy were a bit like Batman and Robin. Too bad we don’t have a Mount Rushmore of tuning pioneers. He, Grumpy, Moates and Mangus would be up there. 😥😥😓

 

I literally picked up a new cable for my EBL only a week or so prior from him. So sad. What a pillar to this community.

 

I remember those times, back on the xfire vault where you were testing stuff on that silver 84 of yours...was it not?

Time flies by, didnt even know grumpy had passed. Now robert. I don't visit here often anymore but sure is good to see some of the old names.

 

I just saw this! Wow, hate to hear this news. He and I didn't talk much but I know what he meant to tuning community, and of course his friends and family. You know, a few people have made comments like end of an era, pioneer, and Mt. Rushmore in regard to his contributions. We should ALL be so fortunate to have had this community for so long that we get to know people like this, and get to be around each other long enough to inevitably, (and unfortunately) see members pass. We truly have a great group, with great members.
