my bady disapointed me last nite..kinda

i went up to capital and ran my 4th gen.

it needs an all new clutch assembly (clutch throwout - resurface flywheel etc.) and the power steering pump doesnt work at all, died completly so its laggin the engine + full full full tank of gas and she ran..

15.70 @ 88 2.32 60'

oh well, usually im hitting 16.9 at 92 so this was OK. hopefully when i fix the powersteering pump, clutch, and get a good set of tires on her shell be where she should.. 15.2-14.9

It was a fun night! I got to do some bracket racing for the first time. I've done regular test runs, but never competed. Lost in the first round, but I had fun!

Check out these times though...

60' - 2.453
1/8 - 9.39
1/4 - 14.255
mph - 100.91

60' - 2.54
1/8 - 9.66
1/4 - 14.529
mph - 102.72

Like the mph's???

Yeah, I need a posi and subframe connectors. Anyone have some 28 spline axles for sale???? Maybe an 89-92 rear?? I need axles for a new posi NOW. hehehe

Dennis - I've got a 670 TBI with edelbrock performer carb intake and adapter plate. I also have a 9 x 3 inch K&N filter that fit under the firebird stock hood. If ya wanna take it off my hands make me an offer. I used these for about a year and they all worked great for me. Maybe we can make a trade? Got anything good?

yeah almost damn near identical cars Nasty_Bird but the thing that helped me the most was the 6 cylinder rear end i jump from 2.73 to 3.42

2.73 best ET=16.46 pretty much stock few mods
3.42 best ET=15.53 now with current mods

Crap. I confused myself. I haven't used it in so long I forgot it's the vortec intake manifold so you couldn't use it anyways. The 670 is the Holley with 65# injectors. Worked fine for me.

Do you still have your 91 rear end?? I need 28 spline axles!!

Yeah Mark, I put the rear end in about 2 weeks ago Works great. Still only a 3.27 though . I've got a set of Yokohamas and they seemed to hook very well. Nice small burnout to clean 'em off and away I go with minimal wheel spin. I think on a good night I could get the car to go a 15.80

hmmmmmmm i agree the Firedbird should go 15.80s on a good night with no wheel spin

when you leave the line do you power brake it to bring the rpms up and are you shifting it or leaving it in drive?

I foot brake it to about 1200 revs at the line and launch. This time i left it in drive. I may try to manual shift it. I dont know how much better it will be, but i can always get a megashifter

Oops.. Didn't notice you added on to the post Dennis. I'd be happy to bring it to you for $150. We could meet at the track or somethin. I used it for less than a year but I only ran the car about 2000 miles on it if that. It worked great for me on a 350 with the pressure all the way up , but it may be too much fuel for your current engine. I'm not familiar with how it would work on a 305. It will definitely bolt up and run ok and I've also heard of people putting the stock injector pod on top for decent results. Whatever, if you're interested or not just repost here. Thanks.
