Do not do business with Ballos Precision Machine in Richmond, VA

Dropped my stuff off to them Wednesday of last week, was told it would be ready in 3 days. Drop by Monday..."Oh, well the parts should be here today, it'll be done in a day or two." So I wait until this wednesday and am told "It'll be done by Friday, you'll have it in time to get everything together this weekend." So I wait until 4 pm today, no call from them, so I give them a call, "Everyone's already left for the day. They haven't touched the block yet."

Do not do business with these guys unless you want to be lied to, put off, and have your projects delayed even longer.

sorry to bring this up again, but here's what i've experienced.

the machine shop that i deal with is b&b automotive in warren, ohio.

anytime i take something in to be worked on, i'm asked what kind of timeframe i need them back in. any competent machinist should be able to assess his or her workload, and meet said deadline.

 nic, had you done business with this shop before?

Hadn't done business with them before, but 2 friends recommended them and our shop uses them as well. Apparently they've gone down hill pretty badly from what they used to be. Our shop no longers uses them for machine work as a result of a couple botched head jobs lately.

Only decent place around is AED...they've been cheaper than summit on everything I've bought from them lately. Hop on over to http://www.dragva.com and take a minute to get to know some of the local guys in the central section when you get a chance. Myself and SlowBlueFormy from here both post over there as well as a few guys from the 757.
