They have common sense. Why waste money on mods to a car that does not even move?

If you had "way more than enough money" why did you fart around with a couple different used transmissions and bum help off of members? Give me a break and hold the BS.

Two gears? WTF is that good for? Do you enjoy riding down the highway at 4000+ rpm?

i wasnt saying im actually gonna go driving around like that...i was just joking around. trust me, i have the money. and i bought the auto first cause it was a good deal. then i thought i wanted to do the 5 speed swap, and decided not to, wound up making 100 bucks profit, not including the shipping i had to pay, so that wasnt a waste at all. and finally, ive been working very hard on the formula that george owns to get it painted for him for all free labor. he helped me put the tranny in in a few hours, and now im putting in around 40 to paint his car, all courtesy for him helping me in a time of need. i just thought since that auto was local and cheap that i would grab it up, and i did, and it turned out not being what i thought it would (even though its a gm rebuilt with only 15 k on it!) you can imagine what kind of mood im in right now, so if you could hold off on the insulting in half of the threads im posting in that would be great. its my life, and i appreciate the advice you have given me when ive asked you, and i enjoyed meeting you and seeing your car, im just not in the mood for this right now.

Come on guys/mod. This thread has gone way off topic. Let's lock this thread and start another just for the Ocean City Crusin! I'm getting tired of getting emails for this thread that have nothing pertaining to Crusin.

ZZ4 - I am not busting your chops, just hate to see you make mistakes with your hard earned cash. All of the older members were all young once and are providing you good sound advice that will save you time and trouble, it's just frusterating to see you needlessly make bad calls. $.02

Anyways, I am planning on making it out to the spring OC gathering, do we have a rough headcount??

n/p.

Worst case and most probable, it will need to be rebuilt. No big deal, should be somewhere around $700-800 or so. Good luck!

the cheapest place i found would do it for 1200-1400. other guys wanted more, they all bitched about it being a crappy trans. this guy isnt just rebuilding like the valve body components, hes swtiching out all the hard parts too, like the input drum, sunshell...everything. im excited. plus i got 2500 in the bank from working at all my jobs. so, im not too worried about it.

Damn, that's crazy. It's an extremely common transmission, so it's easy to come across and relatively easy to rebuild.

i was thinking of getting a bowtie overdrive or probuilt for that price, but then i realized shipping would be over 200 bucks. sorry chris
im just gonna do it for the 12-1400 under warranty and call it a day and move onto other things.
