hey all
hey all
warm greetings, you can call me pilgrim, AO stand for my initials...
i am a guy who has a great passion for 80s muscle cars, recently i have been learning to fix a 1990 Lincoln Mark VII LSC SE which is what i currently own and plan on keeping for the foreseeable future...
...however...
...my wife is a huge 3rd gen Camaro/Firebird junkie and has always wanted one. This upcoming fall I plan on either buying one cheap from Craigslist (one that needs work) or rescuing one from a junkyard, and getting it all fixed and ready to go for her next birthday (a year from now, may 6th)...
i was wondering if this is the right site to come for questions/advice... i do not plan on modifying that car, merely aim to restore it to its original specs... i will preferably shoot for a v8 therefore... hopefully one that does not need the engine/tranny rebuilt...
so, what do you guys think? am i in the right place to spend much of the next (academic) year starting sometime this September?
yours,
pilgrim

thanks! i look forward to diggin' my claws into this car... by the way, i posted in Mid-Atlantic Region because i wasn't sure i qualified for the Midwest... we're in the process of moving right now (which is why this project has to wait until September).. by mid-August we'll be settled in and starting a new life in Cincinnati. Much of our family is in Pittsburgh, so a lot of time we're over there. Anyways, thanks for the welcome - this is going to be fun!
Re: hey all
Im really new to the restoring game and this site has helped me out alot, plus i would go to craigs list i found my third gen for 1500, runing strong although it needs interior work , and slight motor work nothing big just routine maitnence that wsnt done by the previous owner.

hey MM! yea, i'll probably go with Craigslist too, unless there's a really good specimen at a junkyard... rare but happens... a friend picked up an i think 84 Vette with minimal issues from a salvage, heck, it wasn't even rusted.. in any case, about what you have paid is what i'm shooting for, and then probably restore the suspension, brakes, and whatever else has/is about to kick the bucket. i am ready to fight body rust if it is in early stages... in any case, you'll probably see me here a lot once i buy one next fall... till then, good luck on your car!
