How to jack up 3rd gen firebird

OK, I need to replace the fuel pump so I have to take down the gas tank.
I need to get the car up on jackstands first but don't know where to jack it up....any help please?

The "pumpkin" -- the differential housing. Basically the round part of the rear end as you're looking at it from under the car. Don't jack directly on the lip of the housing, put the jack just in front ... but not too far where you're jacking up the pinion/driveshaft.

To be blunt, if you can't figure out how to jack the car you'll never get the tank out on your own... that's not an easy job.

In talking to Bruce the owner of http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/ who has done many tank drops, he said one of the magic touches is to actually bend the filler neck slightly with a long screwdriver or pipe at some point. Sorry I can't add more details he said he would hunt me down. Seriously though not having done it I do not know more details. It really sounds like you have to know what you are doing.

Oh and there is an article here someplace with jack and stand location pics. Search around. Has front suspension pics and names too.

It's easy to pull the tank. It's just time consuming. I did it once before on my 85 Trans Am without ever having done that sort of thing before.
