1984 Camaro Z28 project
Howdy! Just joined the site, with a "slightly used" 1984 Camaro z28, just picked this car up out of a local ladies front yard, for about 700 bucks. Has the 305 / 5.0L high output under the hood, body is in great shape minus the passenger fender has a small dent, and the paint is awful, interior is shot to hell.. but all the parts are there, so replacement is underway. Just completed removing all the interior today down to the metal except the driver seat.
Having a lot of issues with the steering column, acting all funny but did manage to find on here for a reasonable price, now i am just waiting on parts for a damaged hatch hinge, and all new locks. If you have any words of wisdom, please let me know as this is my first camaro.
----List of upgrades----
used steering columns
new front coil springs & shocks
new rear coil springs & shocks
used hatch hinge
cipher seats
4 point camlock harness
harness bar
seat brackets and sliders

Re: 1984 Camaro Z28 project
So the steering column is officially out, along with all the ruined interior, so needless to say its all sitting in my trunk. My hatch hinge broke, so i replaced that and the electronic lock wire was broken, so i disconnected it all together and will place that part on order. She is down to the sheet metal with just two seats. lol

Re: 1984 Camaro Z28 project
So just a small update, got the oil changed, carb some what dialed in and a highway test of about 70 mph. Also got in my lock sets for the doors and hatch, new weather stripping for the hatch, hooker super comp headers, new alternator, and gaskets. I am going on vacation the latter part of August so the rest of this project will be on hold till 1 September. More pictures and updates to follow then.

Welcome to the board!
Glad to see someone bringing them back to life instead of sending them off to the shredder. That one got lucky! Keep plugging away at it and keep us posted!
