Hi all I been lurking for a while. I just started on my 87 TA project with my oldest son. We picked it up as a donor car for a 56 chevy project we scrapped cause the TA was not as bad as the 56. Currently we have the car in my shop stripped to the shell and working on removing the little bit of rus and all the damned undercoating someone mopped on. I traded the old 305 drivetrain for a 85 Camaro roller for the sheet metal parts and some other stuff I need. The TA need the pass side rear 1/4 and the drivers shock tower fixed. Overall the car is solid with just some minor surface stuff. It needs a full resto and since my 93 needs some drivetrain work it will be used for some parts too. The TA has a very low budget as my wife is un employed. IT is a father/son project to teach him. Prior to my wife's unemployment we picked up a 85 Vetter L98/700r4 with ECM and harness. I have a few friends good with 3rd gens and they are going to help with the transplant. We plan some custom stuff and will be posting in the various forums as we get underway. Anyway I have already used a lot of good info here while tearing down the car. I have torn down my 93 before and as much that is similar there is just as much different. I have restored a half dozen cars over the past 10 years. This is not my first rodeo but fist 3rd gen fbody.
