Experienced (TPI) shops in Richmond, VA or Raleigh, NC Area
Anyone know of any shops that are experienced in tuning TPI cars. I have car with just enough mods to make the stock computer hate me. Looking for a shop to take car to and leave it until all is running better as I do not want to get into data logging or burning chips. I could possibly look at driving up to 100 miles but can’t find anyone that still works/tunes on old OBD1 systems. I understand why they all stopped but still does not change my needs.

You should use Brian "Tuned Performance" username here. If you have a laptop, all you need is the Moates Cable. You can use TunerPro RT for free. Even when Brian is done, TunerPro and the cable are an invaluable tool to keep on top of the car. You can see which sensors are failing or ready incorrectly, error codes, rich/lean, etc. It takes a little while to get working, but it is the only way to stay on top of these TPI systems if you do stuff yourself.

Thanks for the advice. I'm still stripping my car and investigating to determine all the issues with it.
I read somewhere that you can get a custom tune to eliminate the need for the cold start injector. I might go that route, as the existing wiring for the cold start injector looks VERY sketchy w some custom/modified wiring.
I think the install would be a lot simpler and cleaner w out that mess.
Plan to stick with the MAF. Determining if my 5.0 is in need a f a rebuild or 5.7 swap.
Never ending list if things to determine before the reassembly starts.

The tune to "eliminate the cold start" is just loading a newer tune from a year that didn't use it and just added the extra fueling through the 8 main injectors. Of course, the cold start circuit is so simple that I'm not sure why people bother, it's just the temp sensor in the front, injector in the back, and a few wires.

The reason I want to eliminate it is because the switch that should be on the front of my manifold is no longer there and it looks like Helen Keller did her first wiring job to Gerry- Rig the injector.
The switch does not appear to be available anymore and I am not sure if the 9th injector even works.
So, if I just eliminate all the wires and plug the injector I will eliminate one more potential problem from a prior owner/shade tree mechanic.
The car was very hard to get started. Once started and warmed up, she ran pretty good. So, I am pretty confident my cold start ckt is just screwed.
