where to get sfc welded in
I live in Greenfield, a suburb of Milwaukee, and I was wondering where is a good, respectable place to get SFC's welded on, and are there any places to get sub frame connectors locally, or should i order them from the internet

Thanks for the offer..but i think it is like over a 6 hour drive there so i'll try to find a shop just a bit closer....thanks any way though
Damien,
I HIGHLY recommend you look into Alston subframe connectors. They are tubular steel type SFC's that can either be bolted or welded in. The latter being much much better. They come powdercoated in black. I bought mine at the Jefferson Swap Meet from Alston for $150 (in the fall of 2001). They are normally $189 on their website:

A couple of weeks after buying them I scheduled an appointment to have them welded at their shop. They are in Antioch, Il which is just south of the WI/IL border. Im guessing it would probably be an hour drive from where you live. The install took about 3 hours. They put the car up on a lift (to keep the car properly 'loaded' on its suspension and straight), clean the areas on the car frame for welding, prep the areas on the SFC's for welding, pull back carpeting to prevent heat damage and/or fire, weld them in, clean the welds and paint it to prevent rusting.
Very professionally done! The SFC's made quite a noticeable difference in the stifness of the car. The installation cost was about $125. IMO......a very good investment at $275 and they are 'local'.
