Exhaust in Illinois
Hi,
I recently purchased a 85 Z28 and I'm looking to replace the exhaust system. Does anyone have any recommendations of a good place to go in the Chicagoland area? I live in Bolingbrook IL, but would be willing to travel up to an hour for a good job. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

If the car has no mods, and you do not indicate what type of exhaust you want to put on it, I'd just take it to Midas or something so you have an exhaust system that is reasonably priced until you figure out what you want to do with it.
That is what I did. Now that I have a motor in my 91 RS (350/vortec), I can finally put on my 3" setup myself.

The car is stock with a 305 non egr. I'm planning to pick up a 3" Flowmaster muffler & 3" high flow cat. What I'm looking for is somewhere that will install these parts, along with a new 3" pipe and dual tailpipes, and not screw me in the wallet.

everyone i know goes to "quick stop muffler shop" on 103rd---ish, and harlem
It an ugly blue building and it looks run down but they do amazing work. I was very impressed with them. the managers name is "bruce". They won't do non-cat exhausts though. I guess a lawsuit will do that to a shop. BUT they are really friendly and knowledgeable.....probably 45 minute drive for ya. I would guess it's palos hills, or maybe crestwood?
