I live in Shelby Twp. Does anybody know of any 3rd gen F-body clubs? If not, is there anyone else from around here that wants to start one with me?

 

i've been askin people around here that have 3rd gens if they know of any clubs....and no one knows of any.....i dont think my car would be "good" enough for one tho.....but i think it'd be fun

 

i've been working on it for the past few years but haven't had much luck seeing as how the thirdgens in the area are so spread out and 4thgens pretty much dominate the show circuit.

we've only had one successful gathering which brought a little under 30 cars so we typically have about 10 of us who will gather for some of the larger events but have relented to do smaller gatherings. if you know of a few or any of you are interested in actively pursuing this let me know and i'd be glad to help you.

it isn't hard to do and sounds like a good idea but something always seems to come up making it rather difficult to get everyone together.

so you see the potential is out there. just need to get the interests going again. it was hot for awhile, but it burned quickly.

 

I'm definitly interested in a club. I'm out in Eastpointe, but I'm move out to Kalamazoo on the 24th for college. Goin to Western.

Where are the weekly gatherings at? I want to try to make it out before I move. I've been busy with preparing for school so i havent had the chance to get out.

there aren't really any gatherings any more as it's too hard to get people together.

head up to mt.clemens on wednesdays and redrobins at hall rd. on mondays and you'll find some of us.

 

I know 2 other people, maybe 3 with third gens. I'll see what I can do.

 

bring them up to mt.clemens tomorrow night.

 

you can check out the www.mifbody.com not 3rd gen specific but we do kinda break off durring the summer into areas and gens... then we get together for big meets of everyone... but there are a few with 3rd gens i have an 82 T/A myself up in the port huron area... be more than willing to cruise with you guys in the summer...

mt. clemens seems to be the place to go pretty much the same distance for everyone i went a couple times last year...

 

So its been 16 years since this thread was created. Has there been a club created for us Southeast Michigan Thirdgen owners?

 

None that I know of. As wexeles mentioned back in '06 MIFB.com used to be very active. But as that crowd has aged, they are much less so on the forum or on the forum successor, facebook. They do still have an annual Meet & Greet which is nice (held in Washington Township this year, and perhaps again next year). You can watch the forum for updates on that one. I just reconnected with my first new car ('91 Camaro RS) at that show a month or so back.

Shelby Twp here as well! looking at purchasing another 3rd gen. haven't owned one since 2008 but I miss it! hopefully will have one in the next few weeks, looking for a 87-89 GTA would love to join any gatherings that may occur. maybe easier to start a FB group? i just sold my delorean and ran our local group for that club
