hey Fbirdta8787, i acutally bought my camaro from a guy over in lakeville a year and a half ago....cant remember the name of the road but i think it was just south and east of buck hill, on the other side of 35.

i think it was Ipava but cant really remember.....my car might be in stroage the rest of the year, untill spring. but im sure i could take it out for a night

I have drove down univesity but just passed throuh..I did see a couple of nice camaros up there. I'm just like shakin right now waiting for my heads to get back cause once they come... Oh boy It all gets to go together!!! Sorry for gettig off topic!!

 

I might be able to come up to the UofM on friday october 10 if i can get some insurance for the weekend since my cars in storage already, ill see what i can do when it comes closer though. ill be up parting at UST that night probably.

I'm 27, and was down on University earlier in the summer. Right now I have some 5 slot mags on the rear end. I'm game for makin' a weekend trip. Rode down with some fellas w/ Mustang GTs, there really isn't many third gens up here. 'stangs up the crun though.

 

yea i dont c many thirdgens around here either thats y im doing this, but next saturday im going paintballin so im busy then but im good for sunday or possibly later saturday

Nope, anybody can go! Even non-F-body equipped car fanatics can go! We just organize the cruise and go from there. But the way we look at it - the more cars/car people, the better!

Unfortunately I won't be able to go since I have a certain obligation to fulfill this weekend (see avatar), but it is looking like there will be a pretty decent group and all of the cruises that we have done in the past have been a great time! The last one we had was a sponsor cruise where we ran out to TPIS and then to Donneybrooke and finished up at Friendly... Easily had 35 cars on that one .

Also, anybody is welcome to come to our monthly meetings as well. You can do a lot with our club without being a member but you just won't get the discounts and deals that paid members are eligible for. Annual member dues are only $20 though .

Where and when do u meet to go on the cruise? How far is it? Any racing going on? Is it really fun or is it just a cruise?

As for racing, if you want to line up with someone I am quite certain they will not have a problem with it! We have been known to do some messing around during events of this kind...lol .

TPIS:

The discount at TPIS is not really a straight percentage discount... It is more like a certain amount can be discounted off their cost on things they don't make themselves, and a very nice chunk off the parts/services they make/provide in house. I used to be one of the guys that flat avoided TPIS like the plague because of their pricing. But with the relationship the MNFBC has developed with TPIS, we have been able to get some very nice discounts and deals and I have turned to TPIS for quite a few things for my 383 project. They also have had us down to their shop multiple times for BBQs or Pizza - on them. They also usually post their used/clearance items on our classified board before they go public with them. All in all TPIS has been good to us and we have been good for them (as in bringing in a lot of local business they didn't previously have).

We also have discounts established for paid members at Discount Tire in Maplewood (tires, wheels, mounting, and balancing), Donneybrooke Racing in Wayzata (run track days at Brainerd International Raceway as well as sell all manner of safety and seating equipment for road racing), and Friendly Chevrolet in Fridley (largest Performance Parts Dealer in the region).

ill be gettin into prior lake at about 7:00 friday and then ill have to wash my car cause i know my brother dident since ive been gone......so ill be done workin about the same time you will be. whats a good place to meet up buy st. paul....campus maybe/???

 

it's cool, it can be hard to tell when someone's joking or not. I've found soooo many things done half assed and just plain done wrong in my car. Like when I pulled the motor and tranny out, I took out most of the bellhousing to motor bolts by hand, and I mean with my fingers. Another nice surprise was when I opened up some split loom tubing to re do one of the starter wires I found some nice 2-3" sections of bare 10ga wire, all of this was routed in very close proximity to the fuel lines. A word of warning to anybody is avoid "Don's Machine Shop" in foston, MN. A garage I go too (alot of **** with my cars is just over my head) used to get motors through him and they've had nothing but problems with them. and he supposedly has a good reputation or something. If anybody hears of him or his business stay away from it, and while you're at it throw a brick through his window for me too.

If it isn't too cold and not raining I will probably be hanging out in the parking lot on the south side of University about 5 blocks east of Hwy 280 on Friday and probably Saturday nights this weekend. There is a Mobil gas station on the north side of University and it is pretty much kidde-corner to a McDonalds. There are usually lots of F-bodies, Mustangs, muscle cars, etc. hanging out in that lot on Fridays and Saturdays. We used to hang out around Porkys but the cops are out of hand down there and Porkys charges just to drive through their lot.

Not sure what you guys had in mind but I thought I would put that out there in case you are in the area (which it sounds like you might be).
