I asked for permission by an admin.

Get a craftsmen club card. You can get the phone # at any sears, and call in to get your card. You get special discounts every month or so. I haven't used it yet and I've had it for about 4 months.

I work in tools at sears and that coupon will work numerous times. You can buy one thing and use that coupon, and if the cashier forgets to collect it and destroy it, you can use it again on another transaction Or just wait til he walks away and pull it out of the trash can under the register

Did a sears employee just say that, i think not...

So, would printing out numerous coupons get me in trouble?

Haha, this is funny. The sad thing is, is that that 10% off coupon is all we Sears employees get

I work in shipping/recieving, but interviewed for loss prevention last week and I find out if i got the job this week.

You should see all the stuff we crush for no reason. Brand new drill motors, rechargable screw drivers...etc...all kinds of stuff, new in the box, and we just throw it away!!!

Man, If I had that job I would take what I could use. Anything else useful that you throw away?

Yes. They should be able to give it to you buy that...but only if you are part of the auto tech program.

Ede, I get 50% through Snap-On right now. That's how I got this box

damn i'd love 50% off snap on stuff. right now i work out of 7 snap on boxes at home plus a craftsman top bottom and another snap on box i take to the track with me. it's always been cheaper for me to buy another box and add on to what i have than trade in mine and buy a bigger box for everything. i'd love a triple bank with locker and riser, not sure i can get all my stuff in it, but it'd be a good start. i can buy cheaper from industrial saleman at work but he's not set up to take cash, or anything really other than POs from companey so i buy off the truck.

i get 50% of from Snap-on right now, but i still cant afford there prices although the quality of there tools is amazing, i wish i could buy my tools from them, but right now the budget isnt there of 5k+ tool purchase.

the 50% of craftsman i can get is nice, since when ever i break one i can replace it very quickly and for free at the sears down the road. and the purchase price is extremly cheaper then snap-on.

what kind of warrenty does mac offer? i can get a discount on mac tools, but i personnaly have never seen and mac tools at the shop or anyother place. are they good qualitly?

Mac makes decent tools, comparable to snap-on but prolly not quite as good.

never had a mac dealer anywhere i've been. from what i've seen of their stuff it seems a little less finished, not as well thought out as snap on stuff. i know proto makes a lot of stuff for mac. put a proto and mac ratchet side by side and other than the handle end you can't tell them apart.

Usually if you are a student you get hella good discounts on tools. I got 50% through snap-on....my boss at sears couldnt do that so I went with snap-on cuz it was about the same price as what I would have paid for the craftsman.

I can go through a craftsman dealer and get the prices pretty damn low. Most sears stores will match a dealers price cuz they want the business (and comission in my case ).

50% would be great. most of my buys any more are either new stuff that comes out or a few random impulse buys. lot of the new stuff is a redesign on the old and i get sucked up in it all and have to have the new. i got the new soft dead blow hammers to up grade from the old style i had. would love to get some of the new soft grip ratchets and screwdrivers.

I like craftsmam for tools used daily, because if I snap or break them I can run up to sears anytime, and not have to wait for the snap on guy to come around.

on one hand, i have to agree with that.. ive broken 2 ratchets...

but i do like the "as cast" feel of craftsman ratchets.... and i was using them as a breaker bar, with a cheater bar on em when they broke... ive broken snap on ratchets the same way.... (ya'd think id learn to stop doin it by now... lol )

but i got a new replacement without hassle.... so i dont hold it agienst them... under any sane abuse, i doubt id ever break them..

what it comes down to for me is the age old mechanics delemmia..

on one hand, the snap on guy comes to you.... you call, he comes...
on the other, you know where sears is, and can go anytime....

to me, thats where the choice is made... they're both good tools, i just usually go with crafstman because sears is alot closer.

Ede, I get 50% through Snap-On right now. That's how I got this box

I am also going to a Tech school and I got 55% off on all my Snap On tools, I didn't have to pay a dime. I'm attending school on a Federal program due to the company that I worked for layed me off and outsourced most of the work overseas. I got a roller and top box filled with tools (almost $10,000 worth) like Josh's except it has single bays. I can get Craftsman tools @45% off, or Mac tools @ 50% off. It's a great deal for someone just getting started in the automotive field..

I get about a 53% discount from matco online because I'm a tech student. The quality is up there with snap-on and mac, but w/the discount its a very good price usually
