My new motor is not gonna have a lot of power but it sure will be a damn good looking one. I will get pics on as soon as I can so you guys can see my stuff finaly coming together!

today me and my girlfriend went out and took the heads off my car no cracks as far as I can see! I really should have pulled off all the pullys and stuff but o-well I can do that another day when I pull my starter off. Getting kinda scared that my car will never run again! I am not marking any of my wires (I guess I better know my car as well as I think I do!) I know I should be but O-well. Took some pics to show you guys and girls but need to use the whole roll before I can post them I will do a whole thread by itself for pics of motor swap! Soon I will have a 355 in my car I am really excited! I cant wait! Keep checking this thread and please respond you guys are pretty much the only people that are supportive of my car other than my girlfeind (sometimes!) Thanks!

Sounding good, If I were closer I`d lend ya my digi camera, Most of those connecters are mechanic proof...(they only plug into the right terminal) . Don`t worry to much, I`ve got an alldata system at work that prints out engine bay pictures and componet views, So if you need anything, fellow third gen, you need not do anything but ask. How`s the weather in snap-on town?

Thanks for the offer greeze. Today is kinda chilly but yesterday I was out in a t-shirt! Thats kinda what I was figuring with the connectors thats why I didnt mark my wires. The only thing I marked was my injectors I put paint dots to identifiy wich wire goes to wich injector. I was kinda wondering somthing does it matter were you plug a vacume line in? I mean like the ones on the passenger side of the plenum? there are two and I dont plan on putting them on in any special order cause a vacume port is a vacume port right? Well I went out last night and got primer and paint for my motor dont like the color too much so I am going to get a different color I got the DuPont chevy orange-red but I am gonna go with a bright red for my motor. I tried to get an oil pan and timing chain cover but the timing chain cover was damaged and the oil pan is for 79 and older motors only. But at least I got a new ever so important 10mm socket! I found a set of chrome centerbolt valve covers that I will be picking up soon only $30 at autozone! Still need to get sanding materials for my plenum and runners I keep forgeting to polish them suckers! Owell Eventually this motor will be in my car looking and running good!!

got the red paint last night used duplicolor f8rd not wait chevy
red. I mocked up the motor last night looks good. I am going with a black throttle body, polished plenum with black stripes, polised runners, Black fuel rails, red intake, red heads, red block, red oil pan, chrome timing chain cover, timing tab, fuel block off plate and valve covers. Not sure how its gonna look in the car but out of the car it looks good! Does anybody know if you need to change your prom when using an LT1 cam?

Well I think that things will be getting going soon. I have almost all my gaskets and the motor is ready to be put together just waitin on confuzed1 to help me get the motor out of my basement and into his garage so I can put it on a motor stand and build it! then I will tow my car to his house and drop it in. I talked to a body shop about my car and got a good quote for my car for body work and paint. Looks like my car will be a different color than I originaly planned but I think my girlfriend will be right with her color choice. Not gonna tell you guys what color though you will just have to wait and see! Pics of project will be going up soon just trying to get them all together and put them all up at once.

my story, which is still being written
ok, i've had my IROC-Z for about a month now. i haven't any mechanical problems yet, but the interior isn't the greatest, some holes in the seats here and there, multiple cracks in the dashpad and a sliced center console, ok, not bad right. the paint job is totally shot, its still got some real paint left on it, but, the original owner owed some guys alot of money, and instead of takin it out on him, they'd take it out on his pride and joy, the IROC. they poured acid all over it, now i have bits and pieces of real paint, and clear coat peeling up and everything. the ground FX on the passenger side are totally ripped off, like the dude hit a speed bump and just ripped them to shreds. the front clip on the passenger front end isn't entirely connected to the rest of the body, which i'm guessing is from an accident. it's all comsetic work though. but believe you me, for a 305 tpi, it kicks the crap out of a lot of things in my town. my proudest moment was when i smoked this spoiled lil brat who has a 1996 nissian 3000gt twin turbo. he beat me for the first 5 feet while i was roasting my tires, but once i hooked up, i went by him like no ones business. but this summer, i plan on saving money for a new paint job and some body work and a new hood, i'm looking @ the after market one made by ASCD, the IROC-Z Turbo. i think thats a cool hood. long term, like in 2 or 3 years a new motor, preferably a 350 TPI or an LS6, that would be pretty sweet, but for right now, i'm content with what i have. oh yeah, i also bought the car with american racing 5 point star rims. i think they look better than the stock iroc ones. but yeah those are my plans for my baby. i know its not quite as bad as what everyone else is goin through or has gone through, but i've only had mine for a month and i'm about to start college in the fall, so i've still got a lot of time for stuff to go south on me. talk to yall latas

Dont worry about making plans for your car the car will tell you when its time to get somthing! I was spending all my time working on appearence and then my motor decides to go out. And all the new exaust work I had done is all pretty useless with a cracked y-pipe. So dont fix it if it aint broke! Take it from me.
O-yea acesovr8s I got 2 fronts Ill give you the pair for 50 plus shipping.
Confuzed1 -- UUUUUMMMMMMMM..........let me think about it.......NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
