My name is Adam. I live in Iowa. Ive been signed up for about a month or 2 but havent really posted. I own a 1982 z28 Ttop. It is a project car. I am 17, and I pay for everything for her. I am going with a 355 sbc engine and a th350 tranny. It will be a carbed street car. Right now I am just saving up money to get everything.

I want EVERYTHING to be done by end of winter in 2006 so I can take it to Prom. Engine, suspension, tranny, rearend, wheels, tires, interior, exterior, and all of that good stuff. I am going to have a black and white interior, and a metallic black paint on the exterior.

My friend is going to photoshop some pictures of what it might look like when it is done. So when I get those I will post them for you guys.

welcome to the board. i would bump the estimated completion date up, because it wont be done by then. i was supposed to have my car on the road back in april. just got it out a couple weeks ago, and it still needs work

 

Well I still have a year and a half. Interior isnt too bad, just small stuff. Needs new carpet and some panels. I bought the car for 750. It started up fine, but didnt idle. I think he over charged me about 150 extra. He wanted 1000, but i was definitley not paying that.

I started weight reduction on it already. Here in about a week I am going to get a new dashpad, ebrake handle, speaker covers, Painless Wireharness and a 355 sbc. Then I will get a little more money and notch the 355 for a 383 stroker kit.

 

Good luck my whole car started out fine and looking good and I had this bright idea to sand my car to turn it black instead of red and now my car is not on the road. It has been almost a year since my deadline and it will be another year befor it is on the road again but it will be worth the setback I have added a lot of upgrades including A new motor but I still have some sensor problems. Never put a deadline on your car you will never achive it not being negative just know from experience.

 

If you want it ready for prom you better get that chicky workin on it with ya. It's gonna take the both of ya to get all that done in time.

I tried to do the same kinda thing. I bought my car back in Nov of 03 and I'm still repairing the f***ing thing. Although there were months where I didn't work on it at all.

My original deadline was anytime before june (that way I could show it off at school). That pretty much fell through... I'm just begining to drive it now... at least I can show it off at college
