Speaking of Storing,

Do you guys who store all winter run your cars for a bit? I've been putting off a battery change on my Deville that's been sitting, (recent drain, not expected, battery still clamped in!)hasn't run for about 3 weeks I think and I do believe sitting cars should be run more frequent then that to just keep everything in check. Mine has 12 gallons of gas and no stabilize just yet, which is something I usually don't use. I'm thinking of syphening that to my Bird though, til it's off and running again.
Bill

Just starting the engine and let it idle for some time, will cause huge condensation built up inside it, and will do a lot of harm!
If you do want to start it, you have to drive it for at least 10 mls or more to get the moisture out!
Beter to leave it were it is, so don't start it!

i ran all the gas out of my camaro before putting it in storage, now theres maybe a half gallon or so in there, enough to move it around the shop when i need to. i only started it when it was still kindof warm out when i put a new battery in, only for a bit to get the battery topped off.

starting it is bad in the winter, for the condensation as mentioned above, and plus every time you start it, especially in the cold winter months, its like running it with no oil for those couple seconds or minutes or whatever, and you kn ow what they say, startup is the worse thing that does stuff to the engine

use a good synthetic oil..and there goes the worries about dry starts..

What I do when I store my 87 IROC is fill it full of gas, then add Sta-bil stablizer and disconnect the battery..If you store it on concrete, I would suggest putting a sheet of plastic on the floor, then park your car on top of it, that way when the concrete sweats it keeps the moisture from rusting the underside of your car..Oh yea, I only use Mobil 1...Come spring, I know my IROC will fire right up with no problems..
