what would happen if u dont degree your cam after u put a new one in?

Depending on the cam not much or a whole lot. if it is a mild cam stock small or rv you can put in in stright up and it should be ok, but if you do degree it you will have more acutare valve timming---If I had my .6 lift cam in the 327 with only 19 thousands clearence between the piston and valve at maximun lift and it was 30 degrees off--well all h-- could break loose--like the valve opening and closing at the wrong time causing lots of problems---best way to describe it is like your timming change jumping a tooth or two--just a world of timming issues--

worst case -- broken engine parts--
I degree even stock cams just my madness and 2 cents take it or leave it--

along with the broken parts, the cam may not perform like the manufacture claims it will. on a stock motor poor/less than expected performance sould be all you have to worry about
