Need opinions

Hi guys, I really didn't know where to post this...so if this is in the wrong place, please move it. I have an opportunity to trade my restored 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 "street rod" , for a 1986 Vette. The Vette is in really good shape, body is good, has a new interior, has 2000 miles on a new 350cu short block bored out to 406cu, and it comes with some extra goodies too. It does have the digital dash, which I've heard can be trouble. Opinions? What should I be on the look-out for? Does this sound like a decent swap? Whaddaya think? Thanks

First, I'd like to know how you get 406 cubes from a 350. I know 383's are a common upgrade using a 400 crank, but can you even overbore a 350 enough to get 406 cubes? If so, the cylinder walls have to be paper-thin. Or it must have some type of custom stroker crank.

I bet it's either a 355 or 383....

Only you know how much your Fairlane is worth, so I couldn't give you a opinion one way or the other. Corvettes are nice cars, but AFAIK, '86's aren't in big demand amoungst collectors.

Nothing wrong with digital dashes, I just don't like the look of them personally - looks too space shuttle to me. And their still only as accurate as the sensors that are hooked up to them. Just MO....

the 86 vette is about a 4-5,000 dollar car. the only reason to trade is because you would rather have it than your ford.
