Woodward Ave

Anyone out there doing the Woodward Ave. cruise. I'm planning on doing it and would like to hear from anyone who is doing it or has done it in the past. I'm sure there are things to be sure not to miss and things to avoid. Thanks in advance, Hank

Make sure you have no overheating issues, it can get pretty congested. Do not go south past 8 mile rd, this is Highland Park, there are no police, total ghetto!! Be cautious when you roast your tires, it happens everywhere, but they will write tickets, everywhere.

Go to Metrotimes/Detroit website, lots of good intel. Get a real map of Detroit tri-county! If you must see detroit, take the freeway, park at greektown casino(lots of security) and ride the peoplemover around, there are lots of great restaurants downtown, the Lafeyette Coney is the best, and they are open until 4 a.m. Pokey-z is 1/2 north of ponticrack and will be cruisin all week!! Let me know your questions.

Re: Woodward Ave

Wish i would have seen this before the cruise. I was there all weekend. Got there Thursday and just got back today. We were staying in pontiac. I ended up replacing my alt. and batt saturday morning. Didn't get out of the hotel parking lot til noon. Did alot of cruising thursday and friday. Put 100+ miles on the car driving around up there. Most of them on Woodward. Put another 600 getting there and back. Had a great time.
