Anyone go/going to Woodward??
Anyone go/going to Woodward??
This is probably the wrong forum, but its the only one that gets read...move if necessary.
Just wondering if anybody has gone or is going to the Woodward Dream Cruise this weekend?? I was there in my friend's '69 GTO convert. Saw quite a few thirdgens there so I was wondering if anybody from this board was there??
Man o man, there were some badass cars.... best lineup was my friend's GTO, a 4th gen Z28, and a blown Duster and Challenger. Everyone was eggin' each other on, and when the light turned green neither my friend nor the guy in the Z even bothered to try as the Duster and Challenger were already gone - - - wish I had brought my camera. :hail: :hail:
Also had some fun sittin at my friend's dad's dealership on woodward a little south of 12 mile.... pourin out water in the street for the true muscle to have fun in. Quickly changed our minds about pouring more water out after a '70 Cuda light em up and we were choking on the dust
One thing I didn't like about the cruise was the amount of posers in their newer GT's, 4 door hondas, etc....all equipped w/ huge wings, poorly installed underbody neons, and exhaust pipes too big for their car.
Unfortunately i'll be working both tomorrow and saturday night so this is the only night I'm able to go....if anyone else goes, get a few pics for me.

I think i might be able to make it on saturday. I should be out of work by 9 hopefully, and can make it to woodward by 10/1030....then again w/ all the traffic who knows.
Anyways, keep an eye out for my 'bird... '89, w/ sparco driver's seat and roll bar
*EDIT* Just got somebody to cover for me tomorrow, so I can be there whenever
What time are you guys going there??

Hey nice pics Ukraine Train! I was there tonight also, got there around 7pm, kinda late, but still very packed, and stayed until they close at 10pm.
I wish they had more cruises like that per year, like on different roads to would be nice, oh well gotta wait another year for that again. Until then its Gratiot and Groesbeck for me
And those ricers need to stay away from Woodward, they have nothing to show, there a joke compared to all the muscle cars around them...haha

Great pics man!!
I was there tonite too... started at 12 mile and headed north. Took us about an hour to drive less than a mile, at which point I had to turn down a side street - - stupid cops forced the curb lane to turn off :\ Anyways...i still had a great time and enjoyed all the applauses for the burnouts people had me do
Wanted to hit one guy who said "It's only a firebird...it has no *****...", so i light em up for a good 30 seconds w/ the rear end skiing back and forth, then took off.....all to prove some a$$hole wrong, lol.
Anyways, i have another question for ya guys...guess it should go in the racing forum, but i figure i'd ask here since u guys are from the area.... know of any good roads for racing?? Like industrial areas and the like. I know I should save it all for the track so please don't flame, but there are those times when you have to shut a few people up and dont have the time to go to a track. From Shelby Twp. BTW (22 Mile and Van Dyke)

i'm not from the pontiac area so i dunno about there but i go to school in flint and there's a 'cruise' there every friday and saturday night right off of 475 in an industrial complex where GM still has some buildings left, cant think of the street name off hand but i think the 475 exit is south dort hiway. there are usually a lot of cars and a lot of racing until the cops come and break it up. if you go and the cops come the thing to remember is dont break any laws tryin to get out of there, they'll pull you for anything just to make an example out of you
