Mo new guy here
Mo new guy here
Ill keep this as short as I can. I bought a 1992 Formula 15 years ago. nice, slick ride. I poured my heart into it, and alongside my best friend I had a basically new old stock bird. I sold it when I was married to my wife 11 years ago to a lady in a town 10 miles form me. Since then, about 8 yrs ago My friend who I leaned on and helped me through purchasing, fixing up, and enjoying the ride passed away with brain cancer. I never forgot my old formula, and out of the blue, this past Sunday, the lady found me on facebook, asked if I could come to her garage. I have not seen the formula since the day I sold it......neither has any of my buddies. I go to her house and she hit the garage door opener, and inside was my formula, exactly as it was 11 yrs ago. She literally never drove it. She bought it, put sta-bil in the tank, topped off with gas, and parked it inside her garage never to see daylight till now. I thought it was long gone, and never attempted to find her because I could not take the heartache I felt I would get by her telling me she had sold it to someone out of State (since it basically disappeared).
NOW she asked me, do you want it back?? I can buy it for the exact amount I sold it for. It is dirty, needs a lot of tlc from sitting for 11 years, and of course has the emotional attachment. Aside from the emotional attachment is this car something that would be worth investing into? It has a bone stock 305, auto, large rear wing I commonly see in newer birds, lexan t-tops, air, cruise, auto trans, and its red on color with black interior. Is it a $4500.00 car?? It has 144,000 miles, but I literally replaced everything 12-13 years ago prior to it sitting. Any help would be appreciated.

only you know if it is worth. the car it self to me, No it is not worth the $$, but to you with the sentimental/emotional attachment it maybe worth it.

Re: Mo new guy here
The real question is "Do you want the car?" I'd never look at my 3rd Gen as an investment. I have mine because I like the way it looks and drives. I don't anticipate making any money on it if I decide to sell it, but at this point I have no intention of selling it. That day may come but it's not today! So getting back to your situation. Have you had regrets since you first sold the car? Is there enough of a sentimental attachment that you'll be kicking yourself for letting it go again? Can you afford it? All of these are questions only you can answer. Good luck with your decision and let us know how it goes. If you get it back, we'd like to see some pictures.

Sorry for delayed response....I bought it back. It in my shop as I type. Now time to begin the "mods".....so happy right now. I should have never sold it to begin with, and thankful to have the opportunity to purchase t back. I am near Hannibal Mo for the guy who was asking. I also bought it back for $3,000.00 so I feel really good about the purchase price.
