Engine: 2.8 Multiport V6 (for now anyway)
Transmission: 4 speed automatic
Axle/Gears: 7 5/8 3.42 gears

Hello all,
Names just but most just call me Red, I just picked up my first 3rd Gen. Camaro and Im really looking forward to learning all I can and driving it all I can as I do so. Ive been wrenching on cars for years so Im sure hope to pick up a thing or two. It would be great to find other owners in my area Im in the Cedar Falls/ Waterloo area right now heres a picture of what I drug home. (she aint much yet but I got nothing but time)

Looks like you've got a good body to work with. What you do to this car depends on what you want from it. You'll probably want a bigger engine, a transmission that goes with it, and a bigger fuel pump to power them.
Anyone who owns one of these beasts will tell you, "It's always something." Figure on maintenance at 50% above your rebuild costs.
This is a good site to learn from, but you'll want the shop manual, if you're going to do major things. That will set you back $70-$100, but it's where you should start. Your public library may be able to loan you one. Also, some procedures require specialized tools, but auto stores will loan you these; you probably know that already.
I'm in DSM. Bob Brown Chevy here does a classic car meet here each Sept. Closest thing to a Camaro meet that Iowa has. Come down when you're ready.

Hello and welcome! Looks like your car is in good shape. Anything you can think about doing to your car it's on here. Get well acquainted with the search function. It works great if you know how to use it.

Thanks everyone, Ive wanted one of these since I first seen one my Buddy drug home, it had a BB chevy with an aftermarket TPI , and a line lock. Im not going that agressive , most likely a warmed over 350 with a mild cam. Thanks again for the welcome everyone
