Well, I took my car in for the emissions test this morning and I failed it. It's all stock so I don't know whats wrong. I called around for estimates and places charge anywhere from $65-$75 just for the test to see what the problem is. Is that a good price or should I keep looking? Can anyone recommend a place for me? I'm in the Palos Hills/Orland area. Thanks.

Rockdale Automotive is an excellent emission repair shop. Bring in the copy of your report so they can take a look at the levels of exhaust recorded at the test lanes.

Actually-I am at work at the moment, but I will get info for you and a phone # and post a message about 1030 in the morning on 7-19 (Thursday). As far as cost- it all depends on what's wrong and needs replacement. The good thing is they won't jack you around.

Approx. a quarter mile down the road, you will see an industrial park on the right hand side-turn into this park. Rockdale Auto will be the first building on the left. Hope this helps!

 

My completely stock 305tbi(81000 miles at the time) failed a few months ago too...I expected to fail when I went because I knew my cat was completely shot...I think just about everything inside of it was busted up and rattling around... but I tried..and failed anyway...After getting a new cat I passed with no problems
