New and ready to learn

OK everyone, after saving my a$$ off, and searching for the right car, I finally pick up my '92 Camaro RS L03 TBI tommorrow. This car is in excellent shape, w/91k on it. I want to keep the engine, as this will be a daily driver in the spring/summer/fall months, but, I want to get the max power out of it that I can. So tell me, oh wise ones, where do I begin? And I want to keep it a TBI engine.

Thank you all in advance, and hopefully when I'm finished, I'll be able to join you kind folks at one of next year's meets.

Well, If I was you, I would start with the chassis first. There is no sense adding a whole bunch of power to a chassis that isn't that stiff to begin with. Go with some subframe connectors, a wonder bar (if you don't all ready have one), and maybe some sway bars. After you have that all tight, you could start looking into superchargers or nitrous. Those are the quickest and easiest ways to gain a bunch of horsepower. Just do it wisely and don't go overboard.

Well you can do easy mods such as, kn fiter, hi flow cat, better exhast, better cam, etc. But i agree you should work on the chassis first. Subframe conectors are a very good investment, and also what he said thicker sway bars and other stuff of that nature.

i will agree with Mcas 7, so get a catback exaust, open element, new plugs, cap rotor, etc,..

Once you get going... I would def suggest, higher gears and posi,
cam and intake! (you will here so much crap about the peanut cam in this car and how it needs to be replaced along with the heads.)

Headers, as well, and many other free and bolt on mods...

The TBI board here is really helpful to us TBI guys! eventhough we are highly considered the underdog of the f-bopdy world...

welcome to the boards and good luck with you new car! be sure to post pics of here for us!

first thing to do, is sub frame connectors...... they will help tie the subframes together, and make the car a little stiffer.

then do your engine mods, etc.

welcome aboard!
