Jeremy (JeremyNYR), jen (birdybird) and i were thinking along the similar lines...a meeting time is hard for me to committ to unless its later on at night due to a weird work schedule/internship till july. However i wanna get a club going as well. Check out wnycar clubs and post up there. I was thinking of trying to organize a cruise to Chestnut ridge park in mid july, w/a picnic type event once we got there. I thought a good showing at the lancaster cruises on tues, and jimmy b's out in lockport would be sweet too. TMF4th and i have meet up at lancaster...i'd love to get a group togther and try to make it a weekly/bi weekly occurance. Feel free to im me at KCobain147 on aim, or email me at the same kcobain147@adelphia.net

I went to the site to register and I ran into some issues. I will try to go back tomorrow and do it again, but why in the world do we need a password and a security code which is not of our choosing and therefore difficult to remember. A name and a password is good enough for sites that are much larger so why should we deal with it for a local site, I want to log on easily. By the way as long as I am on here I will plug my driving sport of choice, autocross. There is an event this Sunday 5-16-04. The adreneline rush is far greater than what you may get at lancaster. The event is at ECC north campus at 8:30am and it is only $23 try it and you will love it. Our cars are meant for far more than straight lines.

sorry bout the site issues...

I was working on it throughout the day....but if you the following link you can choose your own username/passcode.

http://wnythirdgen.com/v-web/portal/...nt&op=new_user

Sorry about that stupid security code thing...I am trying to get rid of it, but either way we are just trying to get it going so that all of us third gen folks can find more people with the same interests in the WNY Area!

Thanks for your support

I have been trying to go to wnythirdgen.com but I keep getting a message from vdeck. Does anyone else have the same problem? As long as I am here I will continue my shameless plugging of autocross racing. There will be another event at ECC North on June 27. All are welcome and there is a class for any car that shows up.

Yeah I've been in the dark as far as what's going on with wnythirdgen.org, which has been changed to wnyfbody.org. I hope the site issues are cleared up soon. I have a few things i'd like to post on the classifieds and also I'll hopefully be getting my car back soon from having the engine compartment repainted and I'd like to post some pics. Tom (NovaSS), I'll have those exhaust manifolds pulled soon to be redone :yourock:

there is already a yahoo site up. i dont know who started it but it could use some more action. it would be nice if we could get everyone on one site.
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/RochesterFBodies/

anyone know about the new inspection? by the sounds of it my car is going to start riding the trailer after sept. my car hasent had the mpfi engine in 7 or 8 years. maybe we should start a movement to not extending the sniffer test back past the 90's

Hey guys, I am also from Rochester. Just read this whole thread and can't believe I missed it before. Well, better to check in late than never.

Just signed up for that yahoo group. These groups are awesome and finally we have something with local people in it. I agree with jwfirebird, we need to bring more action to that group.

I hope that sniffer thing isn't serious 'cause I haven't even bought my carbed 350. I've heard about 96+ for a long time now, did they make any changes recently?

FYI

Hey guys, just wanted to give all the local members a heads up before the rest of the internet. Before I post up my Bird and all her misc parts and spare parts, is there ANYTHING you guys need? Much easier to get things locally... lol. Everything cheap, just need to get it all out of my garage. Let me know if i can help.

Hey guys, a few things here. First, sorry about hte delay with the Headers again Tom. The paint shop has had my bird for about 5 weeks now so it's really delaying my project. I think i may have to get the engine pulled before the headers can come out because i don't think they'll pull out from behind as one piece. I would post some pics of the engine compartment progress, but I reformatted and lost my Photoshop.. haven't found a backup copy yet.

NjccBflo, do you have the shift plate in decent condition? I'm going to need an auto one. Also everyone i have an absolute ton of parts available now. Aside from the firebird stuff, I have a running 1984 Berlinetta (LG4) that i'll sell whole or in parts for dirt cheap. Also a mint camaro dashpad and an L69 305ci with a rod knock that i'll let go of very cheap.

NjccBflo,

I started tearing down the rear of my car to find **** load of rust. What condition are your hatch and rear bumper (metal piece that bolts the body under the plastic)

I am still considering my options, but at this point simply replacing them is definitely one of them.

you can send me a note at six_angles@#REMOVE#hotmail.com

Thanks

I am looking for an 88+ 350 and a 3.23 gear set(3 series carrier) for a ten bolt. Not sure if it matters but I need the gear set to work with 28 spline axkes (88 or newer) As long as I am dreaming of available parts I want an aluminum driveshaft and 1LE front brake parts.

I am also looking for an exhaust bracket. It is the one that is on the passenger side of the car, in the back of the car near the muffler.

Okay sorry, been away for the week.

Yes, I've got hinges - good shape.

Not sure what your looking for from the rear end... the bumper cover or support? Hatch?

Not sure what rear end she has (stock, never tore into it) but pretty sure shes doesnt have 3.xx series. LoL

Ton of spare parts from TA body too.

If you do need something, please PM me. I'll let you know condition (pics if needed) and how cheap. Thanks.

Nick

p.s. - going to put a listing into the classifieds too.

Souseless, this isn't exactly what you were looking for in the rear gears, but I have a 10 bolt unit that's 3.73 open diff available. It's from an 84 so it has 26 spline axle shafts but the entire unit is available.

I also have a hatch in good shape and the rear bumper support should be in good shape. I'm not trying to compete for business here, just giving some more options... and well I am looking to unload the stuff

Everyone check out my engine compartment pics... i'm so glad I finally got it back from the paint shop

pics here

Tom, you know you love it... all you could do after seeing it is complain about how yours is inferior :-). I got the whole front suspension off now... it doesn't get much more torn down than this. I'm trying to figure out what to do for springs... go with the WS6 springs in my parts car, or order up some lowering springs now rather than later. decisions decisions

I decided that for now I'm going with the WS6 springs from my parts car. After I'm done with all the body stuff and see how the car sits, I'll look towards the Eibach Pro kit. NovaSS, take a look at the package deal offered by Thunder Racing (one of the sponsers). They packaged together the lowering springs, LCA relocation brackets, and an adjustable panhard bar together for $350. Looks like a good deal to me. I'm in Suspension hell right now with my A-arms removed and I'm trying to clean up and POR-15 the filthy K-member.

I am about to do the same thing with my suspension. Just finished ripping everything off the body. Now will start building up from bottom up. Same filthy xmember and a-arms (keeping stock for now).

I've seen a lot of people going with pro kit. Have you guys looked at sportline? I was thinking of getting that one?

body shop

Hello Everyone'
This post has been dead for awhile so i'll see if anyone can help me out. I was getting ready to store my iroc for the winter and left it out of gear. The damn thing rolled out of my garage and into my sister in laws blazer. I put a good dent in the left rear quarter panel. Any one know of a good body shop? I have to pay out of pocket(no collision). Any help would be nice. thanks

Schmidtt on Sheridan & Millersport did good work with my Grand Am about a year ago. Average prices.
Had a few friends who've worked at Carubba's, it seemed like a decent place.

Good luck
