Question for Mass. People

How many of you are running aftermarket exhaust components, and have you ever gotten crap at the inspection stations because of it? If so, was it over the muffler/noise level, headers, or aftermarket cat?

I have heard people talk about how these aftermarket parts are illegal in MA, and I have heard others say they have had them on forever without incident. Trying to see in which direction the scales tip on this issue.

Am ultimately wondering if I should even bother trying to get my TA w/aftermarket exhaust passed, or just convert back to a stock system before going to the station.

As long as your emissions equip. is intact they really shouldn't give you a hard time. At one time I was running Edelbrock TES headers, 3" cat and full 3"
cat back Flowmaster system (with fully functional emissions) on my 89 Formula and never had a problem.
