Looking for Opinions
Hey guys. Its been awhile since ive been here, havent done much with my car. Anyhow just looking for opinions here...
Im 20, almost 21, in college still and saving up to move out. I have a sebring that i drive (95) and my 85 trans am. The TA isnt in perfect shape, it needs engine, tranny and body work. I dont have a garage or the funds to really do anything with it now and still have 800 left on the loan I took out to buy it two years ago (2400 and 86$ a month).
I had a guy come look at it today says he wants it, ive been asking for a thousand just to pay off the loan mostly.
My problem is, im really attached to it, I really am. Its the logical thing to do to sell it and rid myself of that finnancial burden for now but its hard. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Should I just store it away somewhere until I have the money for it? Would that just make more work for me and make it more expensive to fix?
People seem to be giving up the search for first and second gens and looking to the third gens more and more each year, if in 2-5 years I go and look for another third gen TA will it be hard to find a decent one cheap?
I know this is all kinda theoretical but the only other person I have to talk to about it is my girlfriend who kinda understands how attached I am to it but still says get rid of it.
So my real question is i guess, what would you do?
(The benefits financial would be no more extra insurance (which could be solved by storing it too i guess) no repair costs over summer like i have been doing to it and no 86$ a month from my account to pay for the loan. Reasons for keeping it are mostly just sentimental, it was my first project car and my first trans am (i am absolutely in love with firebirds and trans ams so its a big deal)).
