No Intro Section?
No Intro Section?
Hey guys. I just joined, and I don't see an intro thread, so I figured I'd do it here.
My name is Adam and I'm 19 from South NJ. I was late on getting my license, so I only have my permit at the moment, and will be getting my license in January.
My brother-in-laws brother is selling me a 1988 Trans Am GTA, and I want to learn as much about it (and cars in general) as possible. I don't know a whole ton about cars but I've been learning over the past year from my cousin (who owns a 2006 Cobalt SS Supercharged, and used to have a '91 Firebird) as well as my brother-in-law, who is one of the best mechanics I've ever met, and specializes in Corvettes, Camaros, etc.
I'm buying the car for $2500 and I believe everything has been completely rebuilt except for the transmission, which is supposedly in good condition for its age. The car is being repainted (black, with an anti-UV clear coat mixed in), and the engine is being swapped (he had a 450HP engine in there) back to stock.
I'm assuming when he rebuilt the engine, he used all stock/replacement parts since the HP/TQ are on stock levels.
I'm looking forward to learning as much about this car and cars in general from this site, and hope everyone here will be able to help out. Thanks.

when you get the car, drop a hello over at gtasourcepage.com. any info on a gta you could want, you'll find it there.
