Overheated

I was driving last night and I heard a pop from the front end. I lost oil pressure and the car started to overheat. When I got the car home I noticed there was a large puddle where the car was, but I don't no what the fluid is as it has dried up. I have no water coming out the tail pipes and no visible leaks in the front. Any advise would be seriously appreciated.

Well, it could be tons of things. The first thing to do though, is look around under the hood, and look for visible places it may have leaked from. oil is gonna leave a shiny, or gummy residue if it's been leaking awhile. If it hasn't been leaking long, it'll just look like regular oil. Start high, and go down through all possible gaskets.Antifreeze looks like water, and will stain hoses if it's been leaking consistently. Same concept as with oil. Look high, and keep going lower.Without knowing what engine you have, I can't give an accurate diag on what the issue is. Some motors drive the oil pump via the distributor with a gear on the botom of a distributor. This could have broken some teeth, or broken completley (the pop sound,) but I'm not sure. That dosen't explain the leaks though. I wish I could help ya more man, I'm at a loss though. I've never experienced anything like this in the 3 third gen F-Bodys I've owned, with varying engines, and years, nor have I seen it on anyone else's. Sorry man! Let me know if you find out what it is.
