MA Dyno Test going away?

So Ive heard alot of people saying that MA is doing away with the Dyno Emissions Test, and that when they do only cars 96 and newer will be tested for Emissions. Does anyone have anymore information on this?

Re: MA Dyno Test going away?

I registered my car this spring. Apparently the dyno testing is done for our cars. The smog tech said that they are ending the dyno testing late summer.

As for me, I didn't have to get smog checked with my new registration, just visual safety check.... I guess the rumors are true.

Although... The website doesnt say anything about it yet.

I'm hoping it's true.

Re: MA Dyno Test going away?

in October of 2008, 1995 or older vehicles aka OBI (before it was 83 or older vehicles). But 1996 or newer aka OBII will still need to pass emissiona. so you wont need to worry on the Mass31 test anymore.
