New in Town
I am not an owner of a 3rd gen F-Body, not yet at least. For the past few months I have been mulling over a 3rd gen F-Body versus a Fox Body. For a while I was more attracted to the FoxBody but after doing some research and looking at the pristine 3rd Gens owned by members of this message board my heart has swayed in favor of the ThirdGen F-Body, specifically the Camaro. My buddy also suggested the F-Body due to my height (6'4"). From what I gathered the 3rd F-bodies have better handling and provide a better driving experience vs the straight line ability of fox body.
So now I am on the hunt for a 3rd Gen Camaro. The first four things I am looking for are:
The other things that I want are a body in fair shape (Dings, small dents, peeling) with little to zero rust and a good frame with minimal rust, but preferably zero. I also prefer all disk brakes and models after 1987. I will take a 305, it is not a deal breaker because I have friends who can swap engines.
I have a tight budget and need to win my Fiancee's approval. There is a reason why Fiancee and Finance are very similar.
I am looking for tips on what to look for when looking at a car. What are the red flags I should look for? With my above criteria, what price range I am looking at?

Re: New in Town
welcome. If you are looking for a factory stick car its going to be a 305. GM did this because the 350 made too much TQ for the T5 to handle. A popular upgrade for this weakess is to swap in a T56 out of a LT1 4th gen car. the 350 was only available in auto. There is a ton of info on this site. just take your time buying a car. I would suggest looking at a couple of them. don''t buy the first one you see unless its a great deal and everything you want.
