Can Anyone Recommend a Good Shipping Company?
Can Anyone Recommend a Good Shipping Company?
I am currently considering buying a convertible Trans AM GTA from another member here in St. Louis, Missouri. I live in Bristol in the UK and thus would be looking to get the vehicle shipped back to me. Can anyone recommend a reliable shipping company for this who will transport the vehicle from St. Louis either directly to me or to the port in Southampton? The important factors are:
This is my first time buying a vehicle internationally so any other advice would also be appreciated (e.g. things to get put on the vehicle to reduce the chances of damage occurring).
- The company must have a good record of cars turning up in the condition they were shipped in
- Insurance can be relied upon in the event anything does happen to the car (I wouldn't want a company saying "well it isn't our fault" if a transport driver damaged the vehicle moving it on or off the container or truck/van)
- Shipping costs (including to and from port costs and handling charges) cannot exceed $2,500
This is my first time buying a vehicle internationally so any other advice would also be appreciated (e.g. things to get put on the vehicle to reduce the chances of damage occurring).

Super fast pick up's and I've always been happy with the service - I highly recommend - plus super easy online scheduling

No luck with them unfortunately, their web page only allowed for Zip Codes (no Post Codes) and I gave them a call and was told they don't operate outside the US.

It's been 12 years but I used a place called Yellow Frieght, it was under a grand to ship from Colorado to Oregon, FWIW, but u may want to check with someone local for a great reference
Re: Can Anyone Recommend a Good Shipping Company?
I was getting some very reasonable quotes from West Coast Shipping (https://www.wcshipping.com) for shipping from Arizona; I've just tried them for New York and received $1,650 for a shared container and I believe this would include moving the car to New York (at least based on the quote they gave me for Arizona). Does anyone have an opinion on these guys?
Also, thanks for the fast responses guys.
