I'm looking for a good mechanic in Rhode Island that can help me with my 91 Z28 305 TPI. Two years ago after storing it for the winter, the fuel pump went bad. I had it changed by a mechanic, however the car never seemed to run right after that, therefore it wasn't driven much that summer. That mechanic couldn't figure it out and neither could a second mechanic. It runs poorly at lower speeds (misses, chugs) and then seems to run better at higher speeds. I'm not sure if it is an issue with the new fuel pump? Cap, rotor, plugs and wires were all changed the year prior also. I was told by the last mechanic that he wasn't getting anything on the computer but it sounded like his computer wasn't working on the car itself due to the age. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
You might want to post in the tpi section.
You should tackle the issue yourself.
Assuming you have fresh fuel start by checking fuel pressure.
if that’s fine go on to the injectors, ohm them hot and cold.
If they are the originals a multec the could often short and you will have running issues.
You can check ecm data using tunerpro rt and the $8d adx.
This can be found on there site. Moates.net makes a usb to aldl cable called xtreme aldl works great. Btw is the check engine light on ?

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I might try to start checking on a few things if I can and I'll take a look at southbay fuel injectors.

Where in RI are you located? I highly recommend SD Concepts in East Providence RI. Wendy and Scott love this hobby and Scott is great at fixing all issues. Give them a try for your issues.
I will give SD Concepts a call. Thanks for the info.
