305 TPI, injectors not firing, need all help
I have a 91 z28 with a tpi 305, the other day it was fine, i shut it off for a few minutes and it wouldn't start back. It turns over fine, I have spark but doesn't even try to start. I have fuel at the rails, but no guage to measure pressure. The fuel pump is only about 8 months old so I believe the pressure is fine. I checked for power at the injectors and have a good power at both prongs. I don't have a noid light to test to see if the injectors are firing but I did with a test light and nothing(I also lisened to them through a screwdriver). So I said the injectors aren't grounding, the Haynes manual said that the computer or wiring to is bad. I looked over the wiring and found nothing (witch i couldn't look over thoroughly because it was still in the plastic cover) so i replaced the computer with a refrubrished one, still nothing. Then I called a mechenic here in town and he said that it grounds through the igination system (like a TBI) so i checked the coil, pickup coil, module, cap, and rotorbutton. All was fine. So that is where I am I have accomplished nothing and don't know what else to do aside form taking it to a shop any help would be apprecated.

i had a very similar problem with the same engine. it was flooding occasionally and didn't want to restart after it was warmed up. i checked the coil and found it wasn't grounded all the way through like it was supposed to be. also my TPS sensor was way out of wack, which caused most of the flooding to stop after readjusted.

it should be. i just brought up the coil for another reason. without being grounded all the way through, i fired it up and watched, the coil was punching voltage through one of the other wires on it. i was concerned that excess voltage punch through could be messing up sensor voltages. not sure what 7 trillion volts going around the car could cause.

I'm having the same problem on my 85 tpi right now. I checked everything like you. Just bought a noid light and it seems that it blinks once and thats it, ecm not grounding the injectors (my car guru friend thinks). Sometimes after fighting with it for a while the pulse will come back. See if you can borrow a noid light or even better, an ecm.
