Engine Builder in Bay Area?
Hey guys... any reccomendations of a good engine builder/machine shop in the Bay Area? Someone who doesn't charge an arm and a leg, but does good work? I'm in Union City, but I would be willing to travel a little ways.
I've just ordered the rotating assembly for my engine, it comes pre balanced. The block needs to be Honed, Tanked, and have new freeze plugs and cam bearings put in, otherwise. I need a cam and a timing set, then I'm gonna have that put together. So I'm just having the short block put together. I will be putting everything else together by myself.
I am intimidated by the short block, I don't have the tools to check the clearances of the bearings and bore and stuff, and frankly even if I did, I would still be iffy. Everything else I feel fine doing.
Another possiblility is if someone in the area has the tools and knowledge and wants to help me...
Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
