Why don't you just take the one out of the t/a that Eric has for now and buy him a new one later?

Sorry to hear that Travis

I had to replace a window and let me tell you, I'd rather have my wisdom teeth pulled (it sucks).

Basically, you can remove everything and the window will come out of the donor door easily.

However I could not get the glass into my door without drilling the rivets out of the track which is riveted on the glass itself, then sliding the track onto the rollers, and then bolting the window to the track.

Doing it this way allowed me to install the glass straight in from the top because it could not physically slide back onto the rear power window roller / both rollers, without breaking the glass.

It was a nice PITA, but do-able.

Good Luck bro!

Sorry to hear about the window Travis. Have fun replacing that yourself, and I hope all goes well.

i got the new one in and it was no fun at all whatsoever, i recomend anyone else that has to do this have a pro do it. well worth the money. i broke the vertical track peice so i cant really roll it down or up without it moving side to side. so im leaving it up for now. this is a good opportunity though, to do my black door panel swap with black armrests. ditching the tan one step at a time

I'd like to take this moment to say I told ya so

I'd rather put on a door with the glass already installed than try and swap glass. Boy did that suck...

But when in Rome...(a.k.a. broke)

Good job gittin' 'er dun' TraviZaza

Congrats on the sort of success Travis, at least you got the worst and most important part in, the glass. Are you going to attempt to fix the part you broke, or just have a pro do it?

I put new window motors in my old v6 Firebird quite a few years ago and vowed never to do anything related with those tiny creviced door openings again.
I got all cut up and the rivets were retarded.
I've read a bit more on the boards since then to make it easier.
I want to do the same to the GTA, or maybe lube them to get a 'lil faster up/down time.
Little things like that bug me, especially something like that that's not done right.

i lubed mine up real well i notice some difference in speed, but like others have said on this board, our motors are just slow.

I had a shop install a new window motor, and regulator in my drivers door and although it's a lot faster than the old one it's still slow compared to a new car. I also agree lubing makes them faster and work more smooth.

Oh yeah our windows are sloooooooooowwwwwwwww.

Esp. my passenger window after I had to take the rivets out, it just will not line up properly now. Ah well.

Now a C5 Corvette, those power windows FLY!

Are the 4th gen windows fast too? Never had the pleasure of driving one...

I don't think the early 4th gens are really fast, faster than ours though, but my brothers late 4th gens are super fast like a Vette, etc.

I'm actually serious there

I've got a couple of people but they kinda wiggle out, whereas the C5 Corvette windows lets say, those could decapitate someone.
