compression test?

compression test?

will this tell me if my rockers are adjusted properly?

not to my knowledge.

pop off the valve covers and check the pushrods for play?

No it won't. Pop the covers and check your valvetrain for play, and make sure that the lash is adjusted correctly.

a leak down test would work though...wouldn't it?



If a valve is being held open because of rocker over adjustment, wouldn't that show up on a compression test?

i can see that working, but you would have to crank the engine manually to get each cylinder to the compression stroke when both valves are closed.
