transmission woes

i gotta pull it now cause of a slap at idle, and a chatter at 60+ man this is pisssing me off its either the throw out bearing or transmission but im ruling out the transmission he is building a whole new one for me same deal all the upgraded parts and sending it to me at no cost

steel 3-4 shift fork, steel keys, carbon fiber retaining rings.

few small stuff but this is irriatating wonder if my car will be ready for the 16th

That's cool Eric, I figured you would have to.

I would just buy it to sell it to my buddy with my Spohn X-Member anyways. I'm happy with my "non-cursed" World Class T5's.

Sorry to hear about the tranny problems Eric, that sucks. At least they are taking care of you and sending a whole new one out, most companies would keep rebuilding your current one, hope the new one works out this time.

Hmmmm, let's see, the 3 of you guys have all gone through tranny problems. I bet you all drive hard. I know Eric and Travis do. I have a stock AC Delco rebuilt tranny with 20,000+ miles on it now and not one wink of trouble, and I drive easy, hmmmm, is there a connection there, lol, just giving you guys a hard time.

sorry to hear that

i'm still on the original trans in this car, the lady i bought it from went pretty easy on the car for it's entire 130,000 miles.

It's got 137,000 now after almost 5 months, and I've already put some noticeable wear on it... lol

I think driving around for 3 weeks without a transmission mount did a number on it. hahaha

wasn't my fault, i have the only car with a unique trans mount in all of thirdgen history... a 90 to 92 v6 w/5 speed is NOT a fun trans mount to locate. I had no choice but to buy it used from somewhere outside of san diego. they didn't even have it when I originally asked, but they got a car in that had one and when they ripped it down the guy remembered me because the trans mount looked so funny.

either that, or pay 180 bucks for a new one from GM. yeah right.......

it's a round hydraulic mount, my old one developed a leak and lost the oil, then with the lack of pressure it ripped wide open after a good roast through first and a little chirp into second *BAMN*

buddy - "what the hell was that?"

me - "transmission mount"

buddy - "how do you know already?"

me - "the stick jumped so hard it almost broke my wrist"

buddy - "oh"

It's all good Eric 2, keep your hopes up and know we are here to help. At least your intake is going on, hope it's a smooth install, let us know how she drives when it's all done.

Nice, Are you doing a full rebuild from the ground up, or have you already rebuilt the motor to handle the boost?

Sorry about that Eric 1. Sounds like a good plan, might as well do it while the car is down anyway. Should be a sweet setup, hurry up and do it.

Completely different engines that I don't think are capable of the same tolerances.
Who knows though, I'm sure you'll use the boost in moderation, haha.

actually i am

and 2nd an internal combustion engine is an internal combustion engine

not to mention hes getting alot more pining/preigniton than i will be due to the high compression ontop of it. 13psi is not that much on a stock 100K motor only not to mention if you want more proof i have talked who worked with STOCK l98's for 13psi ill need tuning and a msd boost timing master im going overboard by putting fresh racing head gaskets and arp head studs.

i also have a magazine article about a stock l98 with 13psi of boost

We're just givin' him a hard time.
He does drive with wreckless abandon though.
I'm sure most of us drive differently than when we were 19 like Eric-1.

I'm with Terrell, 305hp, your dreaming Eric, lol. I say 250 to the ground, good luck with your dreams.
Glad to hear it's all coming together finally though, hope the new tranny works this time.

I dunno guys, I think Eric will have the power #'s he's estimating.
After completing all of those listed items (correctly), the mph's could be around 104-105, which could equate to just over 300rwhp.
He won't be winning many races or pulling any nice timeslips, but at least the dyno will be more forgiving of the driver flaws.

Guess your right Del, only the Dyno will tell. Then you just have to learn to drive that car Eric, and get some better tires.
