TBI to TPI help
I have a question for my Cali 3rd gen brothers. I have a '89 RS tbi and just yesterday bought a '90 Formula I think. It has a 305 TPI vin f, 700R4 which shifts smooth, aluminum dirve shaft, posi rear end with aluminum drums. I haven't checked the axled code because it needs new seals.
The car looks horrible, the interior is sun baked. The body needs too much work. But it drives great!
My question is, has anyone made their RS TBI into a TPI and will it be smog legal?
Let me know.

Im sure lots of people on TGO have done a tbi to tpi swap.
yes it will be smog legal if you retain all the emissions hardware from the tpi motor

You can do it, but you'd probably be better off swapping the entire motor, the heads and cam in the LB9 are way better than the L03.

I've done my research. I know all engine specs on 3rd gens. Thanks to this web-site. I will be swapping in the whole engine.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Parlier is about 30 minutes se of Fresno, or BFE.
Double pumper? That's old school. Well, I guess now TPI is old school but that's what I want. I still want it to be smog legal.
