Damn, that's nice too.I either want a super clean camaro or t/a,l98.If it's slightly modded then fine,if it's stock, fine.I'll have between 6-7,000 for one so if I pay only 25-3000 then I'll use the rest to mod it.I just have to wait for the right one.
Yeah, those prices seem a little high to me. I picked mine up with 56000 miles for 6 grand. One on there is 6500 w/ 124000 miles. I say keep looking and don't jump on the first one you find, there are lots of 3rd gens to be found, cheaply.

The 2nd one w/85K would have to be the pick of those 3.
Definitely the Paxton+383 AND low miles being the best bang for the buck though.
Looks like it was sold already though, no surprise there.
Be patient in your search.
I was looking for at least a year for mine.

Yeah, that'spretty much my main goal.As long as the car is clean I'll be good.I want to supercharge it I may buy a decent one and mod it from there. It has to be clean though.

Preach on it traviz, a 5.slow shouldnt even be considered a small block chevy. My opinion, wait for a clean 92. Something about the rarity of the lower air dam and rocker cover just sets the car off right, they are like k+n air filters on **** burners, they look good even if they don't function.btw, did anybody catch that hostility towards 305's?

I stand by my first comment. I think you can get the same power out of a 4.3 with the same $ and lighter weight. But I'm bitter so what do I know?

I'm partial to the first one. It's everything I want in a third gen:
Convertible
Pontiac
5.7
2500 stall
17's?
Posi?
Decent price too.

With those mods, wouldn't it be worth it or is it a junker?
I don't want to hurt the guys' sale tho, so I'll keep those thoughts out of the thread.
The other 3 you just posted are sweet.
#1. 3200 and it's a true 1LE??
#2. very nice miles, very clean and deserving of the price.
#3. haha, that's my car exactly, leather/t-tops/color and nice low miles. pretty cool. i've seen this guy around town when i lived in fair oaks.
but you can see now what i mean by the prices, why pay 6500 for the first, when there are so many really nice ones to be had for 6K. just a matter of what you want.

I should add it all depends what all you're looking for in the grand scheme of things..
Seems like 3 options to me when you're looking for a 3rd gen.
1. $2-3K, average condition, fairly stock, needs $2-3K more to go fast and fix things.
2. $5-7K, above average condition, lots of mods, fast.
3. $5-7K, really nice condition, stock, slow.
Something in the middle seems like what you want, clean, yet faster than stock, but not more than $4-5K so you can mod it more.

Get the Pontiac. It's a sweeter car. Hear that Pontiac bias? It's for real!

Yeah,I want something really clean, maybe slightly modded.Either way it'l get my touches/changes anyway.Clean, low miles is my priority though.I'll have about 6,500 to spend so I'm looking at almost everything.

I just talked to the dealership for this one and he said it is all original and it's a true 1LE,305,5 speed, with 125,000.I could easily swap in a 350 with the money left over.

The vert is your best buy for the buck.
88 1LE - very rare and easy to check. If that's a true 1LE get that one!!!!! Does it have a blue stripe

Yeah,it has a blue stripe. What all was included with the 1LE package again? If it is a true 1LE then there were only 4 put out that year.I'm all over it if it is in fact for real.

1LE's came with larger front brakes and al driveshaft.
Mine was a customer special order but was not a 1LE because it lacked the larger front brakes and came w/ al drum rear brakes. All of the 1LE parts can be added to any 3rd gen however the proof is in the RPO code sticker found under the armrest. That sticker w/ the matching vin number is the only way I know of ensuring it's a 1LE car. The larger front brakes are what you want from a 1LE.

If it's an '88 1LE, you're right, only 4 made makes it pretty rare.
111 in '89 and a lot more in the later years.
As far as I know, what makes it special is the G92 (3.42s, 305) option and the C41 (bigger alum. brakes) and that it has 0 power accessories, making it lighter than most 3rd gens.
I think the later 1LE's got a special gas tank.
The other upgraded stuff like the suspension and alum. shaft are pretty standard upgrades, I've got them on my GTA w/ WS6.
Probably the mileage is up there, but definitely a nice buy at that price and will make a good base to build upon.

I've seen that 91 for sale for quite a while, for one it is overpriced, but I seriously doubt that is an original 1LE.
All he shows is a smog cert? with the 1LE code on it and a $50 delete pulley, he still has AC crap in there.
Without seeing the RPO list / official build sheet / window sticker, I'm calling

I think I am going with the 92 z28.He said he's the 2nd owner and the guy he bought it from had it as a garage queen. The guy had tons of toy's,(cars, trucks, boats) and kept excellent care of it.He bought it with 64k on it and has owned it for 3 years and is selling it cause he's getting married so wants something else. It's in "imaculate"condition and has a great sound system with 10's in the back and infinitys in the kick and sail panels. It is all stock except for the Flowmaster exhaust.Windows are tinted, has new brakes, water pump.I'm going to look/pick it up next week.He wants me to do it during the day so I can actually see how clean it is.I'm excited now!

I'm going down wed. or thurs. to get it.I can't wait.He said he's flexible on the price and it also has an alarm and a 6 disc cd changer.I was actually go look at Velencia's but I figured with all those mods,I don't know how it's been driven, and one of his previous threads said it was making a loud noise, bad vale or broken spring.I just figured that a stock low mileage l98 was the best choice.
