Hey look, we have 4 mods ;-D
I think we're the only forum with 4 mods, that's impressive.
Even if 2 of them are non-existent.
Who'd you ask for that duty Mike?

Yep... All I did was let one of the admins know our mods were somewhat scarce (and then I volunteered).
In my first official act as new moderator, I'd like all of you to read the rules. That's what I'm supposed to make sure we do. I'm not gonna change how I or anything like that. You all know what I'm like.
Hopefully this will be a good thing.

since rule 32.2-d states "Use the SEARCH function to minimize redundant threads." and since we cant search yet, does that mean all other rules are out the window as well?

So one thing I've noticed... there is an aweful lot of profanity on this forum. The filter doesn't seem to be picking up what it used anymore so look forward to me editting you posts if it happens. If I find that I have to modify your posts more often than others (you know who you are), I'll be sending you a PM asking you nicely to clean it up. After that, I have to be mean and all. I take this seriously.
Sound reasonable?

Yes mommy!
If your next duty could be a mandatory pop up rules window everytime someone clicks on the west coast forum, that would be super sweet

That's why I never would want to be a mod with that holier than thou crap.

Just keep it clean. That's easy. Think about if it is something you would mind having your grandfather or young cousin read.
And masking the vulgarity to avoid the filter is not cool. I'll do what I have to make this forum the best one on TGO. I'm telling all of you now, I think my level enjoyment on TGO may be going down because now I have to be responsible. Please don't make me be the 'abusive parent' type.

As much how this might make me sound like a bigot i light weight agree. Curseing and talking trash is very unprofessional like. Now, I don't see anything wrong with it as long as your drinkin buddies with somebody however around people you don't know I don't think it has any place...however...from what i see on the west coast forum most everybody on here knows everybody and there usually isn't any helpful information to anybody on here that does not live on the west coast so im kinda in a pickle here. If you were the mod of lets say the exhaust section or suspension or something of that nature id back you 100 percent. But honestly on this west coast section 90 percent of us know each other and really don't mind/care why somebody else is using the language he or she is using and don't take it to heart none the less because they know the person on a personal level.

Anyway, there's really no reason for profanity on the boards. Get creative with your verbiage. To be honest, saying a sweart word isn't really imaginative. Kinda low brow too.
We're better than that, yanno?

Just don't turn into an abusive parent with a power trip and it should be cool.

Exactly! Me stop swearing? You might as well ask me to stop ****in breathing!
And I sort of disagree with some earlier posts, I believe a lot of people get helped in the WC forum but it is true that most of the regulars know eachother in real life so they can get away with that.

You want to cuss? Go here. (I actually do recommend this forum). It has no place here on a regional "Tech forum".
That's all I'm sayin'. Thread closed.
