I got back from No Cal on Monday night.
We had a blast. I cut over to hwy 1 at SLO and took 1 all the way to Pescadero where I caught Pescadero road to La Honda Road to Woodside Road. I looked for the Skelletin with the mg, but didn't see it. Of course if it wasn't in downtown Pescadero, it would be understandable that I would see it. I was flying low except when in town or caught behind somebody. It only took me 3 hours to go from San Simeon to Big Sur on 1 including a 1 hour stop for lunch at Ragged Point. On Saturday my wife and I went up to Bodega Bay to tour the Coast Guard Station where I was stationed from 1964-1966. On Monday we came home and again the trip from Big sur to San Simeon only took about 3 hours with a 1 hour stop for dinner at Luccia. Generally hwy 1 isn't bad except for the drivers that are so terrified of it that they have to accellerate to even get up to 30 mph for the curves that have a 30mph speed posted. Fortunately, every time I got behind a slow driver, it wasn't long before they pulled over to let me by or a straightaway came up allowing me to blast past them. On Monday we came South on Skyline to Santa Cruz, and then caught hwy 1 in Santa Cruz. Altogether it was a great drive.
