Re: Added BBK pulleys

I doubt you'll see much of an et drop, maybe a few hundreths of a second maybe if your lucky a tenth. But id like to know too..are those made for vehicles with stock amperage needs? or high amperage needs?

Don't go too cold or the computer sensors will be out of the proper range. If the temp is too cold the computer will incorrectly adjust the fuel and it will be out of tune. If you have a chip burnt to rectify the issue you won't have any issues.

Re: Added BBK pulleys

When I had a 160 in mine, it would stay right at 190* all day. Although I thinki t may not be hot enough now for a 160.

nope everything looks the same. only thing different is the volts sit just under 13 at idle with lights on and the radio.

car was running at 220* because the line was moving hella slow. usually it never even gets to 220* unless Im in heavy traffic

my butt dyno didn't lie.

1st run-15.1@93.1mph
2nd run-14.8@93.5mph
3rd run-14.8@93.9mph

last run I spun real bad off the line and halfway through 1st gear.

I have a 160* stat waiting to go in

Re: Added BBK pulleys

those pullies are designed and set-up for street use. if your plan on running hi output stereo amps them i would not recommend any u/d pullies at all. that set-up has a little effect on the cooling system on a stop and go traffic but not enough to make it overheat assuming other cooling system components are in proper order. i use race pulley and that one is not recommended for street use but i had it in my car since 94. it worked fine for me as long as you don't stay stopped for 10 minutes or else it'll overheat. made quite a difference though in acceleration department.

oh by the way, you should put a shiftkit and should gain 2-4 tenths. pizza cutters can also gain UP to 4/10 of a sec.

Re: Added BBK pulleys

times were about the same(15.0-14.7) but my MPH was 91 to low 93. I know if the car was a little cooler I would have had some lower ET's.

I got the pulleys from Kragen(I work there). think they sale for about $190 but I had them price matched to summit. I paid $139.95+tax

Re: Added BBK pulleys

With adding pulleys, does it help to add a higher amperage alternator? Such as going from a 100amp to a 160amp????? nitro

Re: Added BBK pulleys

I need some learning here.

How is it that the pulleys could imprve times? What is the engineering that I need to understand that explains the idea here?

Re: Added BBK pulleys

The pulleys should improve times (although only slightly) because there is less parastitic loss of energy through the pulleys, allowing the engine to make more power and pull through the RPM's more freely(accelerate through the RPM band faster than it did before). I think its just physics. Someone please correct or support me on this one.
